“At eSolidar, we have finally found a solution to raise vital funds through an extremely simple process. As a charity, we are fortunate enough to receive auction prizes from donors and we now have an amazing outlet to maximise our fundraising potential.”
Richard Fogelman, Grief Encounter’s Chief Operating Officer
eSolidar organised a charity auction of framed and autographed Pelé and Maradona jerseys in conjunction with the London-based charity, Grief Encounter. The proceeds from this auction were used for the one-to-one counselling of a bereaved family.
Grief Encounter is one of the UK’s leading child bereavement charities providing pioneering services and support to bereaved children, young people and their families. Their vision is that every bereaved child and their family in the UK will receive the best quality information, advice and counselling to help alleviate the pain caused by the death of a parent or sibling. Grief Encounter helps families address difficult issues and is instrumental in identifying and offering the means to navigate out of the abyss of grief. The charity offers support to some 500 bereaved children and young people every week throughout the UK.
When asked about the result of working with eSolidar on the Pelé/Maradona auction that raised £1,020, Richard, Grief Encounter’s Chief Operating Officer, said: “At eSolidar, we have finally found a solution to raise vital funds through an extremely simple process. As a charity, we are fortunate enough to receive auction prizes from donors and we now have an amazing outlet to maximise our fundraising potential.”
He found the auction process fairly straightforward, commenting that “the whole process from start to finish was so easy. The staff are simply phenomenal, they made the auction process completely hassle free and all I had to do was send a picture of the item and they did the rest. Our first item sold for around 20% higher than our high end estimate and I believe this was down to the generous nature of the bidders both wanting the item and also knowing the funds were going to charity.”
Richard recommended other charities to use eSolidar and plans to work with us again, stating it was the “start of a long relationship.”
