eSolidar reassesses how charities fundraise online

Last week eSolidar and its founder Marco Barbosa hosted a panel discussion titled ‘Reassessing How Charities Fundraise Online’ at the Impact Hub on York Way, London, to celebrate the launch of its new website. eSolidar is a global giving marketplace that empowers the connection between charities and their communities by providing easy ways to raise funds and awareness.

Recently named in Forbes’ list of 30 under 30 Social Entrepreneurs for 2016, Barbosa chaired a panel that featured four expert guests: Devi Clark, Scaling Manager at Impact Hub; Mark Salway, Director of Social Finance at Cass Business School; Ana Henneberke, Head of Software Delivery at JustGiving; and Howard Lake, Publisher at UK Fundraising

eSolidar provides a multi-faceted approach (comparable, Barbosa adds, to a Swiss army knife) to the e-commerce needs of a charity. Central to its success are its auctions, which allow global rather than localised auction of special items or experiences which have often been provided by an ambassador or a supporting company.

Real Madrid football star Cristiano Ronaldo, pop sensation Katy Perry and music legend Elton John are among those who have supported eSolidar’s endeavours to date. Current celebrity items up for auction include David Bowie’s autographed sheet music for song ‘Blue Jeans’ from his 1984 album ‘Tonight’; a beautiful commemorative framing of Princess Diana’s signature; and a boxing glove signed by the sport’s icon Mike Tyson.

eSolidar is a place to support the charities you really care about.
